So, I will admit it I have a windos machine. I keep it around for testing designs when I am at home on a 100% native machine. I have virtualbox installed on my MBP and run XP, Vista, Ubuntu on it, but I find that it is not always 100% true to viewing it on a native machine.
Tonight, I upgraded my 3 month old Gateway MD2614 machine that is a dual core machine with 4GB of ram to Windows 7 Home Premium. Now, the vista version was working really smooth no issues at all. I did a clean install of Windows 7 to make sure there was none of the left over Vista present and creating issues. Since upgrading, my cat fall asleep faster then this machine can open IE. This machine sucks now. Wireless capability is slower then 2800buad modem (I am 2ft from the router too), windows open super super slow. All in all, this is really a bad experience.
I was really hoping that the money grubbers up in redmond would have gotten it right this time and made a software package that works. I was really hoping for more then a glossy version of Vista.
So, time to format the machine out, put XP on it and start loving the test machine again. Of course it will be a month before I fire it back up again and have to do any native testing, but you know it is nice to know that it will work when I open it up. Right now, I know that it will suck!
I ran across this today on one of my favorite sites (http://whatreallyhappened.com), yes I am a consipiracy nut. I almost fell over laughing when I saw it.
Ok, so maybe I am unique, but I am excited about the snow storm that we are getting ready to get hit hard with. I am originally from MN, so when I see snow like this, it brings me back to the good olde days of getting 3ft of snow in a weekend still having to go to school on Monday. Now, I realize that the state of Virginia is NOWHERE near as prepared to deal with the same level of snow that MN gets.
I do find it funny though that people in the DC area make a run on the grocery stores when there is a snow forecast. It is almost like they think it is the end of the world just because some white stuff is falling from the sky.

Everyone be safe, be warm and enjoy the time inside with your family.
As many of you know, I used to have a personal blog at http://www.davidmcdougal.com which I have now consolidated to my corporate blog at http://digitalpure.com/blog and so I needed a new outlet to express my personal and private thoughts. This blog will not be a gushy, hearty, lovey dovey type blog but rather a outpouring of my true love GOD, Tech and Teaching.
So, what will you see. Well for starters, you will see RANTS about the stupid things that I see. Like people suing people over their dog getting shot, when they got compensated already $4,000.00. You will see DEVOTIONS about the way that God is moving in my life, and the things that I need to express my praise, and love to him for. You will see neat TECH things like my experience with Window 7, Moblin (yes I am buying a netbook for this) and general tech. These are all things that are important to me, and so you will see them.
What you should expect.
So, I look forward blog, posting, tweeting, and all that fun stuff with you. Feel free to leave comments etc, I love the feedback Also, hit me up on all the social places to if you want.
